SUSTAINABILITY ON LOCAL LEVEL
 
The ECO-Freguesias XXI project is an initiative promoted by the Associação Bandeira Azul Da Europa (ABAE), an association that works with portuguese local communities (freguesias) to develop eco-communities or sustainable communities.
 
Eco-Freguesias XXI is part of the ECOXXI Program and focuses on the local communities, approaching the territory and the people who inhabit it. It aims to contribute to the sensitization, education, and change of the autarkic managers, highlighting the importance and opportunities associated to an integrated and responsible territorial management of their communities.

UN-AGENDA 2030

The Eco-Freguesias XXI contributes to the implementation of  nº 11 – the 17 Sustainable Development Objectives (ODS), established by Agenda 2030 of the United Nations – inclusive, resilient, safe and sustainable communities, aligning directly with the 3 axes of  the National Strategy for Environmental Education  (APA, 2017) ): Circular Economy, Decarbonise Society, Enhance the Territory.

REGISTRATION UNTIL MAY 15, 2018

The freguesias can enroll for the candidature in the  Eco-Freguesias XXI Award 2018-19 until May 15, 2018. (read here )
